Pupils at Greenmill Primary School have helped to raise almost £300 for WaterAid.

The school's eco committee, pictured, have been working hard all year to highlight the work the charity does and organise fundraising events.

All their efforts have culminated in a cheque for £281.14 which will be donated to help the charity.

Lorna Thomson from the school explained all that the children had been up to to raise the funds. She said: "Greenmill eco committee have been raising money for WaterAid. This has included multiple whole school events which have helped to raise awareness and money for a life changing worldwide charitable organisation.

"The events included Water Week and World Toilet Day where the whole school were busy learning about the importance of water and how to save it. The eco committee along with Miss McTaggart and Mrs Thomson ran a whole school competition designing water bottle labels.

"The eco committee then selected a winning label from each class which were then put onto bottles to sell which included a small donation which has gone directly to WaterAid. Primary 6 played a huge part in selling the water to the whole school community managing to raise a whopping £281.14"
