Auchinleck Community Council took a step closer to making the town shine this Christmas.
Their funday at Peden Hall on Saturday, June 23 raised £830 for their Christmas lights fund, taking the total to almost £4,000.
Amanda Dobie has been heavily involved in fundraising for the Christmas lights and she has been grateful for the support of the Auchinleck community.
She told the Chronicle: “It was a great day, it flew in. I can’t believe how busy it was.
“We raised £830 which takes the total to about £4,000. I think it was a successful day.
“We’re having a break from fundraising over the summer and will resume again in August/September and hopefully buy the lights in October.”
With the sun shining, kids were treated to a bouncy slide and games on the lawn at Peden Hall.
There was also a car boot sale for the grown-ups and performances from local dance group DCB School of Dance.
Craft stalls had set-up inside the hall and the community council were selling tea and coffee and had a face painter to help raise funds.
