STAFF at Emergency One welcomed First Minister Nicola Sturgeon for a tour of the facility on Monday, June 18.

Over 200 people are employed at the site at Caponacre Industrial Estate and – as part of the Year of Young People – the First Minister was introduced to their modern apprentices.

Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley MSP Jeane Freeman joined Ms Sturgeon along with East Ayrshire Council Leader Douglas Reid and Chief Executive Fiona Lees.

After being shown round the range of different emergency vehicles that are manufactured at Emergency One, the First Minister praised the work being done in Cumnock.
