PUPILS at New Cumnock Primary School were full of ideas when they attended a consultation event in the village.
They had gone to the town hall to tell members of New Cumnock Development Trust what they felt was needed to make their village better.
In addition to give their views, which they expressed articulately, the youngsters designed a poster outlining their proposals.
A spokeswoman for the trust said: “The school participated in the recent community consultation event, providing drawings and ideas of their vision for the future of the village of New Cumnock.
"Their ideas were all excellent ranging from an ice cream shop, a toy store — and no school.
“The trust couldn’t pick one winner, so the decision was taken to donate a cheque for £100 to the school instead.”
The donation was gratefully accepted and will be out into school funds which benefit every pupil at New Cumnock Primary.
Our photographer, Ken McKissock was at the school to see Eric Bennett, Marie Walker and Phebe Wilson of the New Cumnock Development Trust present the £100.
Aidan McMinn is pictured after receiving the cheque watched by the school captains — Abbie Peden, Courtney McLatchie, Haydon Lind and Mathew Hoffin.
