PUPILS at Drongan Primary School have been busy taking part in the Big Battery Hunt.

Class 2a have collected over 4,000 batteries to be recycled as part of the campaign by Duracell and the National Schools Partnership.

Lindsay Moore from Drongan Primary School said: “The pupils in P2a at Drongan Primary School took part in this year’s Big Battery Hunt, which is run by National Schools Partnership and Duracell. Small collection boxes were given out to every school pupil, teacher and member of the support staff. Over the course of our participation – roughly February to end April – the total number of batteries collected was 4,199.

“Not only have the children of P2a had fun collecting and counting batteries but they have also done their bit to ensure that there are over 4,000 fewer batteries heading to local landfill.”
