AN ALERT neighbour foiled a would-be burglar who targeted a house in Cumnock.
It happened just after midday on May 6 at a property in Meagher Court, when the suspect gained entry through a window.
It is thought that the noise of the double-glazing smashing had prompted the neighbour to look out just in time to see the man climbing into the house.
After being disturbed he made off, empty handed, and investigating officers have issued an appeal for witnesses along with a description of the man.
was aged between 25 and 35, 6ft, slim built and wearing dark clothing — anyone who noticed anything suspicious between noon and 12.10pm on May 6 is urged to get in touch.
