A MAN who called his ex girlfriend a ‘black f***ing tramp’ and smashed her window with a Buckfast bottle has been fined £250.

Charles Campbell of Carashalloch Avenue, Patna admitted demanding entry to her property, repeatedly kicking the door and acting in an aggressive manner in November last year.

On the same day he threw a glass bottle at a window damaging it and struck a car window. The 23-year-old appeared before Sheriff Carole Cunninghame at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

The court heard how the accused and the complainer had been in a relationship for four years. The woman had been with her friends consuming alcohol.

Depute Fiscal Lindsay Bain said: “At 5.30pm Campbell attended and asked if he could stay but she told him he was not welcome.

“Campbell became angry. He shouted ‘you are nothing but a black f***ing tramp. The woman remained at the house and continued to drink.

“At 11.45pm there was a loud banging. Campbell had returned and had begun banging the front door to gain entry. He entered and shouted ‘why the f*** did you not let me in’?

“One of her friends managed to get the accused away from the property and blocked the front door.

“The accused smashed the kitchen window with a Buckfast bottle. Police attended but Campbell had already left. The damage to the property was valued at £250.”

Speaking on his behalf, defence solicitor, Glenn Davis, said: “This was his first serious partner and they separated two months prior to the incident but they had continued talking.

“But Mr Campbell had heard the woman had moved on which she was perfectly entitled to do but she denied this when he asked her about it.

“But he found her new boyfriend in her house. This was out of character and is regretful for his actions.”

Campbell has been placed on a community payback order for 120 hours unpaid work. He will pay £190 compensation to East Ayrshire Council and £60 to his ex partner.
