A CUMNOCK filling station was targeted by would-be thieves twice in the space of six days.
But they were caught on CCTV as they appeared to come in through the roof at Central Garage on Glaisnock Street.
On both occasions they triggered the intruder alarm which caused them to exit swiftly with very little to show for their efforts.
The first break-in happened at 4am on Saturday, March 31, when CCTV footage showed one person entering the premises, grabbing some items and making off.
Then, in the early hours of Friday, April 6, a repeat performance took place with, again, very little being taken by the daring night raiders.
It is understood that the cost of damage to the glass panel of a skylight is greater than the value of the stock which was stolen.
Cumnock Police believe that both incidents are linked and have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
A spokesman said: “If you can help with our investigation, please contact PC Stevenson at Cumnock Police Station by calling 101.
“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.”
