PASSENGERS who regularly use Cumnock bus station took in a public display at the town hall.
Ayrshire Roads Alliance officer, Barry McDonnell, staged the event which encouraged the community to have their say.
He said: “There was positive feedback for the proposals as people feel it will brighten up the area, particularly in context of the various regeneration projects taking place.
“We were asked about increased CCTV coverage and better lighting to prevent further vandalism and were able to give people assurances on this.
“It will be given top priority with plenty CCTV in place as well as the materials being used in the final design.”
Another issue that was raised is assistance for passengers with visual or hearing impairment.
“We will make the most of the technology available to ensure that there will be accessible information at every stance,” added Mr McDonnell.
There will be a further public event in Cumnock town hall on Wednesday, February 21,between 3pm and 7pm with an online consultation running until February 28.
Following this, the feedback will be analysed with final proposals put forward to begin the planning process.
