SIR Tom Hunter has backed Ayrshire Cancer Support with a pledge to boost their Kiltwalk fundraiser by 40 per cent.
The businessman from New Cumnock is supporting the charity as it launches its biggest Kiltwalk fundraiser which takes place on April 29. Through his foundation, Sir Tom will add 40p for every pound raised during the event.
The charity have also hired a bus, which will collect people undertaking the Kiltwalk, from Ayr and Kilmarnock and drop them off at the start line. On the return there will be two celebration parties at the drop off points.
Laura Brown, income and marketing manager for Ayrshire Cancer Support said: “This is such a generous offer from Sir Tom Hunter.We are encouraging teams to sign up – so far we have gym teams and pub teams – but of course individuals are welcome too.”
