CONCERNS have been raised for the well-being of an accident victim in Cumnock.

It happened on Saturday, February 3, near TJ Barbers in Glaisnock Street when a pedestrian was knocked down.

In an unusual move, police are trying to trace the pedestrian after the driver involved reported the incident.

A spokesman for Cumnock Police said: “We have issued a witness appeal following an incident on Saturday, February 3, when a black Nissan Pixo allegedly collided with a pedestrian at around 6.40pm.

“We are looking to trace the pedestrian after the vehicle driver told us that they had walked away — apparently without injury.

“But police are anxious to speak to the person and we are asking them to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Cumnock Police on 101.

In a later, separate incident in the town, emergency services were called out after a car had left the road and hit a traffic sign at 6.50pm on Sunday, February 11.

The male driver had managed to get out the vehicle safely and, after being examined by ambulance personnel, was treated for cuts and bruising.
