A TEAM from Bield Housing in Cumnock have been recognised for their high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.

Cumnock and New Cumnock councillor, Jim McMahon, Cabinet Member for Older People and Community Safety, presented them with an Eat Safe Award at the unit in Menzies Court.

He said: “Within East Ayrshire, the Eat Safe Award scheme from Food Standards Scotland is going from strength to strength.

“At the most recent presentation I was delighted to present certificates to the teams from Bield Housing Association and St Joseph’s Academy.

“Bield is committed to providing the best care for their residents and ensuring that they provide the best quality food. I was pleased to recognise their commitment to food safety.”

Only eight other premises in East Ayrshire have earned the award to date.
