FIREFIGHTERS in Upper Nithsdale raised over £700 for charity with their annual Santa’s Sleigh run.
In Sanquhar, £302 was collected when Santa visited last month and the local firefighters have chosen to donate the money to the Scottish Fire Rescue Service Family Support Trust.
Meanwhile, a total of £420 was raised by Thornhill firefighters and the crew have chosen to donate the money to local charities.
The Thornhill Gala Funds, Thornhill Play Group and the local branch of Alzheimer’s Scotland each received £140 as a result of their actions.
The firefighters have been congratulated for their hard work and thanked everyone for their kind donations.
