NEW chairman of Ayrshire Hospice, John Corrigan, featured in the Chronicle last week, almost 10 years to the day when we reported on his honour from the Queen.
Mr Corrigan recalled his dad being an officer with Ayrshire Constabulary and revealed that his place of birth was a police station.
He said: “We lived in the house attached to the police office at Connel Park.
“My birth certificate actually states that I was born at home in the police station — you might say I was born for it.”
Since retiring from policing he has been an executive director of Victim Support Scotland, the owner of a leadership consultancy, held non-executive roles with a number of charities and with Kilmarnock Football Club.
Mr Corrigan has been a board member of the hospice since 2012 and worked on the Ayrshire Hospice Business Ambassador programme.
