A PELICAN crossing on the A76 in Mauchline was left unusable after a fault left the traffic lights out.

The crossing next to the community centre and games hall was blighted with its second failure in the past two months after the lights stopped working last week.

Once they were informed of the issue, Scotland TranServ were quick to fix the fault and the lights are now operational again.

A spokesperson for Scotland TranServ, who maintain the road on behalf of the Scottish Government, said: “Having only just been notified of the fault with the traffic lights on the A76 in Mauchline, Scotland TranServ took immediate action to rectify this issue and restore the lights to full working order. Should they spot such an issue again, we would ask the public to contact us immediately on 0800 028 1414.”
