MUSICAL classes for all ages will be staged by the team at Cumnock Area Musical Production Society (CAMPS) from this weekend.

A range of educational opportunities including practical music and music theory tuition start on Saturday, October 28, at the Barrhill Centre, Bank Avenue.

The scheme, called EduCAMPS, will offer weekly sessions lasting 45 minutes on either a one-to-one or class basis.

A spokeswoman said: “Whether you want to learn to play piano or keyboard, sing in a group or solo or introduce music to toddlers, then there is something on offer for you.”

Musical Tots — leading your child on a musical discovery in rhythm and pitch. Structured and fun using games, percussion instruments and puppets. Helps build confidence, social skills and a musical ear.

Voice Tuition — offered to young people aged five years and above and adults on a one-to-one, or small group, basis. This will cover breathing techniques, range development and articulation. Develop skills for solo performance and group singing.

Piano and Keyboard Tuition — for beginners or those wishing to brush up their skills from age four to adults. These classes will use a range of fun methods to develop playing techniques, sight reading and aural skills.

Music Theory tutoring — will include teaching the fundamentals through to preparing pupils to work towards their National 5, Higher or Advanced Higher music exams.

Adult Choral Group — for anyone who enjoys singing. Everyone is welcome. No auditions, just come along and meet others with a similar interest and have fun singing and performing in the local community.
