CHAIRMAN of Cumnock Highland Games, William Salmond, is asking for people’s support in taking the games forward.
The event brings people from all over the world to Cumnock and provides a spectacle of Highland Dancing, Pipe Bands, Heavies Competitions and other community stalls and activities for local people to participate in.
A spokeswoman for the committee said: “Unfortunately at this year’s AGM there were not enough people in attendance to put together a full committee and the positions of both Secretary and Treasurer as well as some Ordinary Committee Members remains vacant.
“If these positions cannot be filled, unfortunately it will mean that the group will no longer be able to continue and organise this event.”
The group are holding a Special General Meeting on October 25 at 7pm The Royal Hotel, Cumnock.
