SANQUHAR’S Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show took place on Sunday, September 3.

The sunny day attracted vehicles from Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Dumfriesshire, the Borders and the Lake District.

A great display of lorries, gleaming in the sunshine were a real credit to the owners.

There were also 50 motorcycles including some three wheeled types, while a large turnout from the Ayrshire Club had enjoyed a nice run south.

All the usual cars were on display with the local Laird family displaying six cars all in super condition— Austin Maxi, Hillman and more.

Others on display included a vintage Landrover from the Lake District area, Sunbeam Rapier, Ford Cortina, Classic, Vauxhalls, Triumph Dolomite etc a good display of Ford Capri, and many more in total well over 70 clean shiny cars.

Sanquhar Events Group would like to thank all the entries this year and we appreciate them coming along to this free event, as a way of thanks all the entries received a free lunch.

The Events Group hope to see all the cars, lorries and motor cycles next year which is the 20 year since the event began in 1998 for the Sanquhar 400 celebrations.

Next year’s date is Sunday, September 1, so keep a note in your diary and they look to see you all then.
