PHOTOGRAPHER Gillian Holloway Botha finally got to an event that has been happening in her neighbourhood.
It is where the annual sheep dog trials are held and, despite living in the area for more than 10 years, Gillian has never got the chance to attend them.
She told the Chronicle: “On a dreich Saturday in August I finally got to attend the contest in the hills above Burnfoot.
“What an experience. Over-excited Border Collies, bad tempered sheep, and a huge amount of good-natured leg pulling made it a very special day.
“And add to it that the ladies were strongly represented by Lauren Hinnekens, member of the Scottish National Team 2017 as well as local lass Joan Young and her dog Dusk, and you have a day that brought some outstanding talent to our lovely hills.”
The New Cumnock Sheepdog Trials take place at Brockloch Farm on the road between the village and Dalmellington.
