CUMNOCK’S Citizens Advice team are looking for a new home as the number of people needing help increases.

It follows the introduction of a new system which has slashed the amount of paperwork and provides clients’ information at the push of a button.

Called CASTLE, or Case and Statistics Linked Electronically to give the system its full name, it has improved the efficiency of many aspects of the bureau’s work.

Manager Sarah Hammond said: “Our search for alternative accommodation for our Cumnock office continues as the client loads continue to grow.

“Our outreach team have been able, due to the efficiencies afforded by CASTLE, extended provision in Dalmellington by one session per month.

“Caseloads on our rural areas continue to increase, particularly those relating to benefit appeals.

“Additional support is being sought to assist with demand in Cumnock as well as the outreach areas of Dalmellington, Drongan, Muirkirk, Patna and New Cumnock.

“With full service Universal Credit on the horizon, it is imperative that we increase our outreach provision.”
