SANQUHAR’S family-run animal shelter has received welcome support from the Glasgow-based Portakabin team.
Clark’s Little Ark were given a one off donation of accessible bathroom facilities for the site, a former brickworks. With the shelter becoming increasingly popular with visitors, owners Alison and Ian Shankly were in a quandary.
MSP Joan McAlpine, a supporter of Clark’s Little Ark, wrote to Portakabin asking for help and the team in Glasgow were delighted to help.
Keith McIntyre, Glasgow Hire Centre Manager at Portakabin said: “We were really happy to donate this disabled toilet unit to Clark’s Little Ark. It had become surplus to our stock, so as a one of donation we were able to give it to a really deserving cause.”
Alison added: “We’ve been so lucky receiving support from the local communities and beyond, to help make Clark’s Little Ark free and accessible to all ages and abilities.
"Our friends at Portakabin have made it even more accessible for those travelling long distances."
