FORMER pupils of a Troon school are invited to a special anniversary celebration next month.

St Patrick’s Primary's 20th Anniversary Ball is taking place at Troon Concert Hall on Saturday, September 16.

The current building, which is on the site of a former St Partick’s Primary, opened its doors to pupils on Friday, August 22, 1997.

It had been built at a cost of £1.2m with the pupils being decanted for 15 months to Queen Margaret Academy in Ayr.

Now 20 years on, and almost to the day, the memories will come flooding back when the doors, of the concert hall this time, are thrown open.

They will open at 6.45pm with guests enjoying a drink on arrival, followed by a two-course meal and a DJ getting the party started, until 11.45pm.

A spokeswoman for the organisers said: “We are marking 20 years in our new school. Come and join us for a night of celebration and memories — dress to impress.

“Contact Margaret on 07920 728542 or Bernadette on 07900 692672 to buy tickets, which cost £25.”
