RESIDENTS will see the light and head for a major event this autumn being staged by East Ayrshire Leisure.

All roads will lead to Dean Castle Country Park for Illuminight, a fire and light spectacular which is being held in conjunction with Unique Events.

The 1.5km trail will take visitors through the historic woodland, alongside an illuminated River Irvine and through new wetland areas with surprises around every corner.

Illuminight is one of a series of events taking place to mark the re-opening of the park, which is one of East Ayrshire’s most popular attractions.

It follows a multi-million pound restoration and renovation project and a special deal has been struck for people with a KA postcode, who will be able to buy discounted tickets.

They have been on sale since Friday, August 4 for the show from Wednesday, October 25 until Sunday, November 19.

Council leader Douglas Reid said: “We are reaching for the stars in East Ayrshire with the multi-million pound redevelopment of Dean Castle Country Park.

“Illuminight is a fitting way to celebrate the park re-opening and this world class event will shine a light on Dean Castle Country Park.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide.”

Penny Dougherty, Director of Unique Events, says that Dean Castle Country Park is a ‘truly world-class location’.

“Given the unique nature of this impressive event and Dean Castle Country Park’s loyal following, we know this will be a very popular event.

“As the nights start to draw in, we can’t think of a better way to brighten-up a dark autumnal evening,” she added.
