IT WAS a beautiful day for the Kirkconnel and Kelloholm Gala on Saturday, June 17.
The Sanquhar Silver Band along with the Upper Nithsdale Youth Pipe Band, Kirkcudbright and District Pipe Band and the Buccleuch and Queensberry Pipe Band all took part in the parade that involved seven lorries.
Other events on the day included the Samba Sisters, a display by the Lynette Turner School of Dance, Cheryl’s Wee Twirlers, face painting, inflatables, sideshows and a fancy dress competition.
The Gala Queen was crowned at Nithside Park by Murray Pagan.
