RESIDENTS raised the alarm when a junction box went on fire in Cumnock.
A crew from the town’s fire station were joined by colleagues from New Cumnock in response to the alert from Holmburn Avenue.
It happened on Wednesday, June 14, just after 5pm, with an area around the junction box cordoned off for public safety.
Firefighters remained at the scene to keep the area secure until engineers from Scottish Power arrived to carry out the necessary repair work.
