Crashed into tree
A DRIVER avoided serious injury after a car left the road and crashed into a tree near Mauchline.
They had to be cut free from the damaged vehicle after the smash which happened at 12.35pm on Tuesday, June 13, just outside the town on the busy A76.
Emergency services were deployed to the scene with firefighters from Cumnock and Kilmarnock using hydraulic cutting equipment to release the casualty.
An ambulance crew then took the freed driver to Crosshouse Hospital for an assessment. There were no other vehicles involved.
