EVERYONE connected with Glenafton Athletic past and present enjoyed the latest in what has been a run of celebrations.
Pride of place at the official opening of the refurbished Hugh Campbell Hall was Glens’ treble of Scottish Cup, League Championship trophy and Evening Times Cup.
Also taking place were the inaugural Glenafton Athletic Hall of Fame inductions of Richard ‘Noddar’ Kirpatrick, Danny ‘Puskas’ McCulloch, Ian ‘Skoosh’ McEwan and Alan Rough.
Taking their places at the top table were club secretary John Stewart, who chaired the event, current manager Craig McEwan and club historian/programme editor Bobby Guthrie.
Other guests included after-dinner speaker Alan Timpany, Sir Tom Hunter, local poet Rab Wilson and East Ayrshire deputy provost Claire Leitch.
Since the glittering event, Campbell Hall has been a busy place with fans getting their picture taken with the trophies.
Meanwhile Bobby Guthrie carried out some research into the two club legends who have entered the hall of fame.
Danny McCulloch, who was born in New Cumnock, scored more than 300 goals for the club including a record nine goals in one game.
He was also capped for Scotland.
Richard Kirkpatrick, another New Cumnock native, also set a club record of 65 goals in a season.
Both players have Scottish Cup runner-up medals from 1963.
