EWAN and Emily Carmichael are urging people to donate their old-style £1 coins to Ayrshire Hospice.
The siblings, aged 11 and nine, were chosen to get the message across before the coins cease to become legal tender on October 15.
Ron Swanson, assistant fundraising manager at the hospice, said: “We’ve been delighted to have the support of Ewan and Emily to encourage people to donate their old £1 coins.
“The support of the East Ayrshire community is never taken for granted and we have branded donation boxes that we can offer to supporters to help them collect their coins and raise money for the hospice.”
Tracy, Ewan and Emily’s mum, added: “Ewan and Emily hope that their support will encourage people all over Ayrshire to support the hospice in this generous way and collect lots of pound coins for charity.”
