UPPER Nithsdale residents will be asked for their views on future forest development.
Forest Enterprise Scotland has issued a 10-year land management plan and arranged two drop-in events to help explain the proposals and to get feedback from the public.
Information, opinions and suggestions will be taken on board which will shape long-term future of Cairnhead, Shinnelhead, Polskeoch, Euchanhead and Corserig forests.
The first session is at Moniaive Memorial Hall on Monday, June 26, with the other one two days later at Kirkconnel Miners Memorial Hall.
Both drop-in days are held between 6pm and 8pm with a presentation starting at 6.30pm each time.
Robin Fuller of Forest Enterprise Scotland said: “We are keen to hear from as many people as possible on our proposed Land Management Plan.
“It is our intention to ensure that these forests continue to play a key role in producing a stable supply of softwood timber to the processing industry.
“Our design plans for the forest landscape will also enhance the experience for walkers on the Southern Upland Way, and those visiting the iconic Striding Arches.
Forest Enterprise Scotland would welcome all views and will be very happy to speak to people in detail at the drop-in events.”
