OCHILTREE and Skares’ Community Led Action Plan was officially launched in a ceremony at Ochiltree Primary School on Saturday, May 20.
The five-part plan was voted on by the community to set in stone its priorities in March and will see a raft of different initiatives over the next five years.
The priorities that the plan will work on include the lack of community facilities and services, building the local economy and tourism, community spirit with related activities and events. improve the roads, transportation and paths as well as the appearance of the villages and other open spaces.
The the Ochiltree Drama Group “To The Stars” and singers Danielle Laven and Kirsty McLeod entertained everyone during the event.
The Action Plan Group are now asking the people within the communities to come forward and volunteer their time to ensure that the above priorities are acted upon to further improve a great place to live in and bring up their families.
A spokesman for the group said: “Our vision is to create a vibrant, attractive, welcoming and inclusive rural community that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.”
