RESIDENTS of Afton Road in New Cumnock are advised that there will be an increase in heavy goods vehicles from later this week.
This is in connection with the Afton Windfarm project and will involve concrete being delivered to the site, starting from Thursday, May 4.
The concrete will be for the foundations of the turbines being installed at the windfarm and will be supplied by Killoch Concrete Plant.
Meanwhile a section of the road, between Lochingerroch Farm and Blackcraig Farm will be closed for resurfacing over two weekends.
Closure, between 8am and noon, then from 1pm to 5pm, will happen on May 13 and 14, then May 20 and 21.
Afton Road has already been upgraded to cope with the extra traffic. Passing places and widening was completed in March ahead of the works.
