LOCAL artist Julie H Winter is set to display her work in New Cumnock Town Hall as part of Open Studios Ayrshire.

The New Cumnock artist’s paintings will be on display from April 21 to 24 which includes her west coast of Scotland collection.

Julie will be present on launch night at the newly refurbished town hall where she is hoping the extended opening time, until 7:30pm, will attract more people to view her work.

She said: “A warm welcome to all local people friends and family. I want to thank staff at the town hall for their support as well as the people who use the hall on a regular basis for giving up their allotted times.”

The exhibition will be open from 10am to 7:30pm on Friday, April 21, 10am to 6pm on Saturday, 11am to 6pm on Sunday and 10am to 5pm on Monday, April 24.

Julie has been an OSA member from its conceptual year in 2013 and continues to be involved in all areas of the project as she will be giving demonstrations across the weekend.

Last year Julie was quite ill and as a result been cutting down on extra activities like tuition and demonstrations.

However, this year she has teamed up with New Cumnock Nursery. The boys and girls will be seeing her exhibition of work in the town hall before embarking on a creative project relating to Julie’s artwork.

She will also be holding a prize draw for a £50 Voucher towards her original artwork for those who tell her their three favourite pieces in the exhibition.

She is hoping that this will engage people in developing their observation skills and be art lovers for any years to come.
