PUPILS at Kelloholm Primary have been weather-proofed thanks to the generosity of a local company.

Brown Brothers, who make meat products, have donated 30 outdoor learning suits which will enable them to get out the classroom — whatever the weather.

Bosses at the firm, which started off as a small family butchers, were happy to help as it will benefit the children’s education.

A spokesman said: “Outdoor learning has been proven to raise attainment and increase health and wellbeing in both children and adults… and much more fun than being stuck indoors.”

One P3 pupil was in full agreement and added, on behalf of the class: “We love learning outside and can remember things for longer when we learn them outside rather than in the classroom.”
