FIFTEEN children of P4-P7 from Sanquhar Primary took part in the SSCBA Regional Burns competition held at Dumfries Academy.

Every child from the school performed to an extremely high standard with most of their marks in the 90s.

P4/5 recitation — Archie Gallacher first place, with Ella McTeir second.

P6/7 recitation — Molly McTeir received second place with an impressive 98 and a half marks.

Rowan Hastie was awarded first place with a full 100 marks from the judge.

The school are proud that all four children representing the region at the national finals in April are all from Sanquhar Primary.

In singing Rowan Hastie received the silver medal which enables her to represent the Region at the National Final. Ella McTeir will also attend the Nationals too after being awarded first place in the P4/5 singing competition.

Rowan Hastie went on to be awarded the best Primary Pupil of the day and overall Best reciter of the day.

Due to all of this success, Sanquhar Primary were awarded the best Primary School.
