A MAN, who threatened to kill police after they told him to put his pet lizard on the ground has been told ‘he has issues’.

Paul Rosenbloom, of Main Street Auchinleck, admitted repeatedly uttering threats of violence, shouting and swearing at his home address on November 1, 2016.

The 26-year-old appeared before Sheriff Desmond Leslie at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

The court heard of his threatening behaviour after he called them out to his home.

Depute Fiscal Neva Houston explained: “It was 11.10pm on November 1.

“Police attended the address to speak to the accused in relation to a call.

“On opening his front door, he had in his hand a pet lizard. He said: ‘come into my f***ing house.

“Are you f***ing stupid or deaf?’ “Police told him to put his lizard down and asked why he had contacted them.

“His anger heightened. He shouted and saying he was going to kill someone.

“ He displayed aggression towards police and kept saying ‘I am going to find out where you live and kill you.’”

Speaking on his behalf, defence solicitor O’Dowd, said: “He doesn’t normally drink but has been diagnosed with Bipolar.

“He moved from Glasgow to get away from peer pressure.

“He had over dosed and realises this matter was totally unacceptable and is staying off drink.”

Sheriff Leslie said: “You have indicated you are dealing with the issues you clearly have.

“I am going to keep my eye on you.”

Rosenbloom has been put on a community payback order under supervision for one year.
