THE Ochiltree and Skares Community Action Plan is starting to take shape following a public event to form the action plan.

The event was held on Saturday November 19 at the Ochiltree Parish Church.

Local residents were invited to turn out to vote on themes they want to see included in the upcoming community action plan.

On the day 176 votes were cast for the five themes local people want to see tackled when the action plan is launched next year.

Alex Baird from the Steering Group said: "I was really pleased with how many people turned up for it. It went very well.

"It was a very busy day and we are delighted with the attendance."

On the day there was an array of entertainment including singers and local school pupils.

Greggs in Cumnock provided tasty snacks for voters.

The steering group are hoping to find out exactly what local residents want them to focus on by early January with the hope that the Action Plan will be formally launched early next year.
