SKY customers across East Ayrshire have been left with no internet connection.

The telecoms company confirmed that customers are experiencing broadband and talk problems in West of Scotland.

You might not be able to get online or make or receive phone calls due to a problem in the area.

The announced on their website: "We're working on fixing the problem and we'll provide an update on this page once we've discovered what is causing the fault. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused."

It's understood that the problem has been caused by a fibre-cable break.

Affected areas include Ochiltree, Dalmellington, Muirkirk, Patna, Sanquhar, Cumnock, Drongan, Kirkconnel, New Cumnock and Mauchline as well as parts of south Ayrshire.

Sky tweeted an update, saying: "We hope to reroute traffic for 90 per cent of customers by around 6pm. We are working to fix the damaged cable ASAP."
