THE route from New Cumnock to Dalmellington will be hampered by roadworks this month.
The B741 New Cumnock to Dalmellington road is due to undergo essential resurfacing works.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, as part of its ongoing programme to improve the condition of the road network, will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on the B741 New Cumnock to Dalmellington Road.
The works will start on Monday October 17 and are expected to last up to ten working days between Lanehead Farm and Maneight Farm.
The road will be closed daily from 7am until 6pm.
A diversion route will be in place from the B741 to A713 Dalmellington, B742 to Coylton, A70 to Cumnock, A76 to New Cumnock before re-joining the B741and vice versa.
The works are weather dependant and may be delayed at times due to bad weather and work will continue on the next available day.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance is urging motorists to allow extra time when planning a journey during the works.
Advisory signs will be erected in advance of the works.
