GLENS boss Craig McEwan is pleased to see his side show their mean streak.

McEwan watched his side come from behind again to dump Broxburn out of the Scottish Cup and he says that he's happy to see his side fight and scrap for every win.

Glens scored a late equaliser last week to scrape a replay with the East region side and they had to come from behind again to secure a 3-1 win at the weekend.

Goals from David Gray, Mick McCann and Cammy Marlow sealed a second round tie at home to Livingston.

Speaking after the weekend win, McEwan said: "We done it the hard way but we are in the pot and that's all that matters.

"We didn't perform last week against them and we got out of jail, but there's always the next game to rectify things and luckily for us it was the replay."

The Loch Park boss was more pleased to see his side pick up wins at all costs. He added: "We're starting to see out games and that's pleasing thing. We are starting to show that we can scrap and fight for everything.

"Every since I took over people have always said we are a good passing side and decent wee team but some maybe thought we were a bot soft at the back when defending a lead. I'm happy that we're becoming tighter and tougher to break down and teams are finding that come to play us is always difficult.

"We have taken 10 points out of 12 in the league and that will go a long way to hitting the 25 point target that we have set ourselves."

The Loch Park gaffer sung the praises of free kick specialist, Davie Gray, who notched his second goal from a free kick in a week. McEwan said: "There's more to our team than just Davie Gray, but in all my time playing and coaching in football I've never seen someone who takes a free kick the way Davie does."

Glens will this week host Scottish Cup holders, Beith in league action and McEwan reckons a win would send out a message to their rivals.

McEwan said: "They are undefeated since they won the Scottish Cup so a win over them on Saturday would put a marker out there."

The Glens boss also admits that he's happy to see his side float under the radar. Glens have already defeated Pollok, Kilbirnie Ladeside and Talbot in the league this term.

McEwan said: "Keep talking about them. I'm more than happy to go about our business without anyone mentioning us as title challengers. Let everyone keep ignoring us, I'm happy for it to be that way.

"I'm not foolish enough to rant and rave about going on and winning the league or anything like that, but if we keep picking up the points then who knows what we can do?"

Glens host Beith at Loch Park on Saturday with a 2pm kick off.
