CUMNOCK rugby sensation Mark Bennett helped light Rio up as Team GB Rugby 7s side stormed to victory.
Bennett starred for the Team GB side in their opening Olympic fixture against Kenya.
Team GB ran out 31-7 winners with Bennett getting himself on the score sheet.
He outpaced the Kenyan defence to streak away for Team GB's fourth try.
Team GB then faced Japan, who had earlier stunned New Zealand.
It proved to be a tight match that went down to the wire, but Team GB edged it 21-19 in a thriller. GB secured the win, no thanks to a sensational try saving tackle from Bennett who timed his lunge perfectly to deny Japan a score.
