THE future of the Glaisnock Centre is close to being decided.
Cumnock's shopping centre will be demolished later this year.
East Ayrshire Council are believed to be working alongside a private company to re-develop the site.
A council spokesperson said: “The council is working with a private partner to redevelop the site and it is anticipated that the planning application containing the redevelopment proposals will be submitted before the end of this month.”
The Chronicle understands that Farmfoods have previously expressed an interest in the site to build a brand new store but that nothing official has been decided.
We understand that the Farmfoods which is currently in the Glaisnock Centre is due to close sometime in August and that staff have been offered the chance to apply for positions at other Farmfoods stores.
