KELLOHOLM has seen a spate of crimes in the space of a week.
Police are investigating a break-in to a garden shed at a house in Guffock Road sometime overnight on Sunday May 15 in to Monday May 16.
The thief made off with an orange coloured 33cc petrol strimmer valued at over £100.
In another attempt, a house in McConnel Street in Kelloholm was the subject of an attempted break in shorlty before 12.30am on Wednesday May 18.
The crook tried to force their way in to the propoerty but woke the homeowner in the process.
The man was awoken by banging at the rear of the house and he then discovered a broken window.
Constable Jim Kirkpatrick at Sanquhar Police Office said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us catch those responsible for these crimes. At this stage there is nothing to link the two crimes however we are keeping an open mind. Anyone who can help should call us on the 101 number at Sanquhar."
