• A THIEF has made off with a pressure washer and a quantity of tools at a property in Mauchline.

The items went missing from a shed at the property in Cumnock Road some time between 9pm on Sunday May 8 and 7am on Monday May 9.

Anyone with any information is being urged to contact police on 101.

  • POLICE are looking for information after a thief pinched a mountain bike from a property in New Cumnock.

The bicycle went missing from the shed at the property in the Leggate area sometime between 11am on Wednesday May 4 and 5pm on Thursday May 5.

Anyone with any information should call the police on 101.

Inspector Colin Shearer, from Cumnock Police Office, said: "We'd urge people that, with the god weather coming in, they should check the security of their garden sheds and make sure that they are locked and that any power tools or garden strimmers are security marked in the event that they are stolen."

  • A SUPERMARKET thief has been collared in Cumnock.

The 45 year old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a quantity of meat from the Asda store on Townhead Street at around 4.10pm on Thursday May 5.

  • A BRAZEN duo forced their way in to a petrol station in Auchinleck and stole cigarettes.

Police are now appealing for information after a man and a woman forced their entry in to the filling station on Mauchline Road at around 3.50am on Friday May 6.

They are now looking for information on the pair who were wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.

  • A WOMAN has been lifted after being caught in possession of a knife.

The 25 year old was arrested after allegedly being in possession of the weapon in Quarry Knowe at around 1.45am on Thursday May 5 after being reported by a member of the public.

  • A VAN has had items worth £1,900 stolen from it in Cumnock.

The works van was broken in to on Edgar Avenue sometime between 5pm on Tuesday May 3 and 9.30am on Wednesday May 4.

The parked van had a quantity of power tools stolen and police are now warning people not to leave valuable items in their car over night.

Inspector Colin Shearer said: "Valuables should always be taken in to your home at night and never left in a vehicle, especially if it is in view."
