THE Sanquhar Masonic Lodge celebrated its 52nd Annual Burns Supper recently in superlative style.

The committee were pleased with the team of talented speakers, artists and a fine traditional supper.

The Lodge Piper Sandy Bell heralded in the top table guests who were individually introduced by the Supper Chairman Willie Dick.

Andy Brown opened the proceedings with an arousing Selkirk Grace.

The Supper was delayed to allow Piper Sandy Bell to pipe in the Great Chieftain o' the Puddin' Race borne in by the Haggis Humpfer George Park.

Mervyn Stuart, with great flourishes recited 'Address to a Haggis' and formally toasted the Haggis. The meal was purveyed by Maitie McLatchie.

The formalities of the toast to the Queen and the Armed Forces was delivered by chairman William Dick.

The Immortal Memory of Robert Burns was in the very capable hands of Hugh Farrell.

An excellent toast to the Lasses was ably proposed by Graham Chalky Wight .

John 'Cheesy' Watson delivered the toast to the Drouthy Cronies.

The final toast of the evening was to a Real Good Nicht and given by Douglas McKenzie.

The Lodge Piper Sandy Bell joined forces with drummer Craig Gibson to play a wide selection of traditional and other foot tapping pipe airs.

The Supper drew to a close with everyone joining hands to sing Auld Lang Syne.
