A LOCAL emergency service crew made a couple of generous donations in the community this week.
Members of the Mauchline Community Fire Station held various events and donated cash themselves.
They recently presented cheques to two local groups. The Burns Bairns, a pre-nursery school based in Mauchline were given £500. The Mauchline Old People Welfare Committee were also awarded £500.
Station Manager Alan Coughtrie said: "The money was raised by the personnel of Mauchline Community Fire station by holding various charity events and donations from the personnel. I would like to commend the unit for their achievement and for their engagement and support of their local community. Mauchline and Muirkirk Community fire stations are currently recruiting and you can apply through My Job Scotland or the Scottish Fire and Rescue website."
