NEW Cumnock is still reeling from the Hogmanay flooding that caused chaos.

Much the the town was impacted by flooding following Storm Frank, including the towns football ground.

Now Glenafton are set to play their won part in raising funds for the victims of the floods.

The club have decided to hold their own charity match at Loch Park, which was submerged under three feet of water during the flooding, with all funds raised being donated.

Glenafton Athletic secretary, John Stewart said: "We have arranged a game on Sunday February 28 between Glenafton Athletic and a New Cumnock select. This is aimed to raise funds for the victims of the severe flooding that New Cumnock suffered once again.

"We plan to have a game with £5 entry and we are having a dance in the Campbell Hall and you can purchase a ticket for £10, which includes your entry to the game and also admission to the dance with a pie and peas at the break."

He added: "There will also be raffles, and donation sheets which will be out soon so please everyone make a big effort towards with this fund raiser as all proceeds will go direct to the victims."
