A FLOOD alert has been issued for East Ayrshire.
From today (Friday) onwards persistent and at times heavy rain is expected to affect the area through until late Sunday.
River flooding could effect low lying land and some roads while flooding to properties is possible. Surface water flooding issues are also expected leading to potential travel disruption and ponding of water in known trouble spots. Further updates will appear here if the situation changes.
Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.
The flood warning from the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) does NOT stretch to notorious flooding hotspot, New Cumnock.
