Everyone has a piece of writing, or a grit of an idea. It may be hidden away in the back of a drawer or still tucked away in the subconscious. There is an old adage that for every thousand novels that are started only one will be finished. The AWC provides the opportunity, encouragement and tools to complete this work, be it poetry, prose or a script and turn a rough diamond into a polished gem. Along the way you can hear from established writers, have access to writing workshops and gain entry into social events of the literary world. It is also possible to be an E member and have access to all the club resources without attending meetings.

The Ayr Writers' Club meets each Wednesday from 3 September to May at 7.15pm to 9.30pm at the Carlton Hotel, Prestwick. New members will receive a friendly welcome. Full details about the programme is available at www.ayrwritersclub.co.uk or follow the Ayr Writers' Club on facebook.
