Police in Kilmarnock are continuing enquiries following an armed robbery at a petrol station in Kilmarnock on Sunday 14 November 2010.
The incident happened at around 6.20pm on Sunday November 14, a 34-year-old woman and 60-year-old man were working within Campbell Oils, Hurlford Road, Kilmarnock when a man entered the premises. He threatened the staff with what appeared to be a firearm and demanded cash from them.
The suspect left the petrol station with a three figure sum of cash and was seen making off on a 'BMX' style bicycle.
The firearm was not discharged at any time and the staff were left uninjured but extremely shaken.
The suspect is described as being around 5ft10 and of stocky build. He was wearing a black coloured sports mask like the type that is used for paintball or hockey, a blue hooded top with grey sleeves which had stripes on the arm., dark trousers and white training shoes.
Detective Inspector Scott McClelland at Kilmarnock CID said: "I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the suspect hanging around the petrol station prior to the robbery taking place or anyone who may have seen him cycling away on a bicycle.
"I'm also keen to speak to anyone who has recently had a 'BMX' type bike stolen and has not reported the theft to police." Anyone with information is asked to contact Kilmarnock CID on 01563 505500. Alternatively calls can be made via CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
