LUGAR BOSS SEETHES OVER LATE CALL-OFF

Lugar boss Alan Cotton has blasted the Muirkirk committee after Saturday's Ardagh Glass Cup clash between the two was postponed.

Heavy rain last week waterlogged the Burnside Park pitch and left referee Gerry O'Neill with no option but to call off the game after a pitch inspection.

But Rosebank Park gaffer Cotton was left angered by the 'Kirk committee, who he claims failed to properly communicate to the club that the game was off. It meant several Lugar players - including Andy Rae and Sean Lawrie - turned up at Burnside Park only to find out the game was off.

Muirkirk has vowed to work on improving drainage at the park in order to prevent incidences like Saturday's from reoccurring.
